I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, but Netflix has a great selection of animations. Whether it is their own nicknames, such as pseudo-anime Castlevania (See our ranking of the top 10 episodes here), or actual anime (meaning, from Japan), like Demon Slayer and another great anime currently streaming on the platform, Netflix is, for the most part, a live shooter when it comes to that medium. That’s why I’m so excited about what was announced recently Tekken: BloodlineWhich is expected to be released later this year.
Here’s what we know so far from the clip recently released by Netflix: The story is about Jin Kazama and will take place between the events of Tekken 2 And the Tekken 3. We’ve already seen some familiar faces in the trailer, including Ogre, Heihachi (Jin’s grandfather), Jun (his mother), Kazuya (his father), Paul Phoenix, Ganryu and King, all of whom fit comfortably in Tekken 2/Tekken 3 timetable. But we also surprisingly see Leroy Smith, who debuted in the latest Tekken 7. This means that any character in the series can appear in the anime. Absolutely.
However, in line with Tekken 2/Tekken 3 Schedule, here 10 Tekken Characters from that specific era that I really wish to reach Tekken: Bloodlineand also the role that it would be great for them to play in the upcoming Netflix series.
Forest Law
Are you a fan of Bruce Lee movies? If you answered: Yes! Then enter the Forest Code. Son of Marshall Law (because yes, Tekken Pretty ridiculous series), Forest Law trains in a dojo all day, and even screams like Bruce Lee when he manages his kicks and deadly punches.
I’m choosing Forest Law over his father, Marshall, since Forrest appeared in Tekken 3He is also best friends with Paul Phoenix, who got him into the King of the Iron Fist tournament. It would be great to see the two rehearsing in the anime, before Marshall walks out of his restaurant and scolds Paul for including his son in the tournament. And yes, all this is canon.
Nina Williams
Nina Williams is like Chun-Li in the series, and by that, I mean she’s as strong as the female protagonist who is perhaps more associated with the franchise. Having said that, I should probably compare her to Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow because she’s also a no-prisoner killer, who even tried to kill Jin Kazama, which fits well with the anime novel, which focuses on Jin.
During the events of the second game, her egg was also removed, eventually spawning boxer Steve Fox in Tekken 4. While I’m not that fond of this whole egg-snatching subplot, I do love the super-cool sleep aspect of her story, and it would be great if she would wake up in the Netflix series alongside her sister. Speaking of who…
Anna Williams
Nina and Anna Williams are two sisters who hate each other. So much so that Nina assassinated Anna’s fiancé on her wedding day. Now, that’s cool. But, it’s not as cold as the chilled sleep that Anna and Nina underwent in between the events of Tekken 2 And the 3.
I’d like to see this sibling rivalry play out Tekken: Bloodlinekind of like this awesome scene between Komon and Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 2 As they both try to snipe at each other silently without anyone noticing. Anna is also Kazuya’s bodyguard, so she would definitely fit in with this novel.
Dr. Bosconovic
Remember that cooler sleep I mentioned earlier? Well, it was managed by Dr. Bosconovic. He also helped create Prototype Jack (more on him in a few). The hard-to-control doctor (HE KEPT FALLING!) can’t be played in most games, but his presence is felt throughout the entire series as a character in the background.
In many ways, Dr. Bosconovic is similar to Nick Fury (which we last saw Avengers: Endgame) subordinate Tekken The universe, as it connects many different narrative threads. I’d love to see him make Jack the prototype to chase Jane. How cool might that be?
jack
There are a lot of variations of Jack in the entire series. There is only a normal jack in the first game. Then there’s Jack-2 in the second game, then Prototype Jack, followed by Gun Jack, then Jack-4, then 5, then 6, then X, then 7, and gee golly whiz, is that an Android or an iPhone, because all of these upgrades seem Closer to the last and not the previous.
But seriously, Jack is just a big, clumsy robot that rings when he gets hit. I want to hear that reindeer in the anime, because I’m a simple guy who enjoys simple things.
Yoshimitsu
Yoshimitsu, like Nina, is one of the only characters to appear in every single one Tekken Toy. as appeared in SolcaliburBut this is neither here nor there. Yoshimitsu is from the Manji clan, and I’ve always thought of him as some kind of cyborg ninja. He holds a sword and a prosthetic arm that was acquired by (wait for it) Dr. Bosconovic.
In fact, Yoshimitsu and Dr. Bosconovic are friends. So much so that Yoshimitsu enters the third tournament only to save the life of a good doctor. It’s complicated, and I’d rather the anime explain it to you than myself because I don’t have it all day.
Ling Xiaoyu
Appearing for the first time in Tekken 3, Ling Xiaoyu is a fan favorite, and a potential love interest for Jin Kazama, so it would only fit if she went into the series. Xiaoyu is a 16-year-old Chinese martial artist who just wants her own amusement park, and she thinks Heihachi can build it for her.
And guess what, Heihachi says he would if she won the tournament! Now, I don’t know how ridiculous this anime is, but if it’s going to get full-TekkenThen of course I have to mention…
panda
Ling Xiaoyu’s pet is literally a panda called Panda. Panda mostly uses Jack’s combination of movements, and he is also Xiaoyu’s bodyguard. Yeah. You read that right.
Not only that, but the Panda is also the subject of a love interest to a large brown bear named Kuma, who even tried to give Panda flowers once. Honestly, out of all the characters I would want in this series, Panda is number one.
Li Wolong
If the law Tekken Bruce Lee, then Lei Wulong is Jackie Chan. Using multiple tactics in his combat repertoire, Lei is a police officer trying to shut down Heihachi, and he’s joined forces with the King of the Iron Fist Tournament to do just that.
Lei Wulong can give a nice insight into the foreign affairs outside of the entire Mishima Corporation because he is a police officer. Because even though Lei Wulong is directly related to Heihachi, he could also be a cutie segment in the world outside of the Heihachi Foundation as well, which will be appreciated in this new series.
Eddie Gordo
Buttons dream, if you play Tekken 3So, you know Eddie Gordo, through thick and thin. This Brazilian capoeira master doesn’t have many stories until recently Tekken 4When he met Kristi Montero.
However, I would still like to see him in a Netflix series, even if it was just a short cameo. Because it’s so hard even to think about it Tekken 3 Without also thinking about Eddie Gordo. They both go hand in hand.
And that’s it. Tekken It’s one of my all-time favorite franchises, I hope so dynasty Better than Netflix Godzilla: Single Point anime, which I felt worked and didn’t work either. Fingers intertwined! More news on Tekken Or any other video game franchises, be sure to swing by here often.
