London, Paris and Santa Monica, California – (work wire) – The international not-for-profit Breteau Foundation, which provides high-quality educational tools for disadvantaged children around the world – announces a partnership with award-winning global independent animation studios ZAG and ON kids & Family (Mediawan Group) To collaborate on a special episode of the global animation series Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir To raise awareness of the global plastic crisis. Released in Spring 2023, the episode will reach millions of Miraculous fans around the world, and seek to inspire the next generation of potential sustainable change makers in the fight against plastic.
In this special, Marinette, Adrien and their friends want to actively combat plastic pollution in Paris, but as a small group, the task seems too massive. It comes to Marinette’s mind that they should try to solve the problem at the root, by trying to meet the biggest plastic manufacturer in person and persuade him to change his habits. But the heroes are about to face an opponent in civilian clothes who is even more terrifying than some of the superheroes they face! And what if, moreover, Monarch, the super-villain, decides to scold the Plastic Baron?
The Breteau Foundation began collaborating with ZAG and ON kids & family (Mediawan Group) in 2020 after looking for an entertainment partner with a strong presence among children. While ZAG and ON kids & family (Mediawan Group) are producing the special episode on reducing plastic use, the Breteau Foundation will work with them to improve the script with key educational messages. Furthermore, the Breteau Foundation is developing an accompanying series of workshops that will include lesson plans, teaching resources and STEAM learning tools that cater to local elementary school curricula and are available for free download.
