Today Izanagi Games has arrived with a press release to provide an update on the upcoming escape game / bullet hell shoot ’em up hybrid Yurukill: The Calumniation Games.
The game, which was initially scheduled for 2020 and then postponed to this year, has been postponed again. It will now launch in Spring 2022 for PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam and Switch.
Below you can check out the reveal of a new character for Binko on top of Sengoku Shunji and Rina Azami.
We also get a glimpse into the story of Yurukill: The Calumniation.
Sengoku Shonjo wakes up in his prison cell.
A woman wearing a fox mask introduces herself as Binko, and says, “Sengoku Shunju, you’re a criminal sentenced to years in prison, and you’ve been offered the chance to get your freedom.
You have to survive different “attractions” in a particular “amusement park”. If you succeed, your crimes will be pardoned.”
“No, I got it all wrong, I was falsely accused! I’m innocent!”
He appears as the victim of one of his alleged crimes. Her name is Rina Azami.
“Sengoku Shonjo. A name I will never forget. You killed my entire family. Therefore, I will never forgive you.”
Sengoku is in prison, charged with arson and murder – for burning to death 21 people, including the Rina family.
Of course, the victim wouldn’t believe a word of Sengoku’s claims of innocence.
Besides Sengoku there are four other groups of criminals and their victims.
The accused criminals are called “prisoners” and the victims “executors”. Criminals and victims must team up to face the attractions of the amusement park.
There are a total of six criminals and five victims. There are five teams: Mass Killings, Death Dealing Duo, Crafty Killers, Sly Stalkers, and Peeping Toms.
The prisoners hope to overcome the challenges and be pardoned.
If the executioners win, their desires will be fulfilled. And after a long wait, they will be able to avenge their loved ones.
The challenges take place in a secluded amusement park called “Yurukill Land”.
All sorts of secrets will be revealed as the teams face every attraction.
Who will survive this cruel, twisted place which is the land of Yorukel?
