French show Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir It became popular in North America after it was picked up by Nickelodeon and then Disney Channel, while also emerging as a kid-friendly option available to stream on Netflix. This cartoon follows Marinette and Adrien, two Parisian teenagers with supernatural powers that have given them the magical items they possess called Miraculous. The two, under the secret identities of Ladybug and Cat Noir, save Paris from civilians who have been turned into villains by the evil Hawkmoth.
The Oth wants to steal the miracle from the two heroes. To achieve this, Akumi uses his magic to target anyone suffering from negative energy and turn them into evildoers of his own. Once in pain, each of these enemies possesses unique abilities that range from silly to super powerful, and Ladybug and Cat Noir must find creative ways to catch them and bring them back to normal. Throughout the show’s four seasons, there have been dozens of Akumetized villains, but 14 of them stand out the most because of their abilities and personalities.
14 dark cupid
After being rejected by Chloe on Valentine’s Day, co-worker Kim gets hurt and turns into Dark Cupid who, unlike Cupid, spreads hate instead of love.
He can fly like a traditional cupid, but his arrows turn his target’s love into hate with the goal of drying Paris of all her love, leaving the city in shambles until Ladybug and Cat Noir rescue the day.
Timetagger is the version of Marinette and Adrien’s friend, Nino, who is turned into this fun villain after learning that Adrien’s father won’t let them have the epic Christmas party they were planning.
His strength is his ability to create giant bubbles that he uses to drive out all the parents in town, thinking they’re stopping everyone from having a good time. He can also attack anyone who gets in his way with exploding bubbles.
Frigtengale is what happens when a pop star gets hurt. She forces everyone to entertain with a magical microphone that turns her victims into a purple statue if they fail to speak or sing in rhymes.
She wants to turn all of Paris into a giant music video. It is definitely a unique force that results in some amusing moments.
Hawkmoth turns scientist Otis into Animan by exploiting his painful feelings, which resulted from him being ridiculed for his love of animals.
His powers allow him to transform into any animal as he pleases, even extinct animals such as woolly mammoths and dinosaurs. Ladybug can defeat him when she realizes that shifting in rapid succession tires him out.
The muffler is literally capable of silencing anyone of their choosing simply by touching their lips with two fingers and making a faint noise.
The sounds take on the appearance of jellyfish-like creatures that he can store in his mask and use to speak like the owner of the voice, a power he uses in his revenge against a greedy music producer.
Puppeteer is a woeful version of Manon, a young girl who is cared for by Marinette and who is targeted by Hakim because of her loneliness when everyone is too busy to play with her.
Once she swings, she can control life-size dolls that look like her friends.
Sandboy has a magical flight cushion that shoots sand and attacks his enemies. It can also bring up people’s nightmares in reality causing Cat Noir and Ladybug to face terrifying versions of themselves.
Sandboy also appears in Gamer 2.o episode as a playable avatar. His identity was never identified, but he was targeted by the Akumi hawk moth after having a nightmare by watching scary movies before bed.
The second season episode of the same name proves that even robots can get hurt when Hawkmoth targets a robot and a boy friend.
Driven by his desire to be human, the agonizing robot gives an awareness of inanimate objects. He uses it to wreak havoc in the city where anything mechanical or electronic can be controlled by a single robot.
6 Player 2.0
This version of Gamer turns everyone into a real-world melee style video game where avatars outrun the wronged villains.
Every time a villain is defeated, the player gets his miracle and gets his power. The villain definitely adds a fun element to the episode, and it’s fun to see Ladybug and Cat Noir vying with the forces of the villain.
5 queen wasp
Queen Wasp was the result of Chloe feeling like a forgotten companion after her superhero character Queen Bee became no longer needed by Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Her discontent with the moths turned her into the Queen Wasp, who was able to control swarms of wasps that could paralyze people with their venom. She is also one of the few villains who don’t turn back at the end of the episode.
Nathaniel’s love interest in Marinette is frustrated and he turns into this villain who can create anything he wants by drawing it and bringing it to life under his control.
He also has the ability to erase things, even those he didn’t create. His weakness is that his strength works only in the light, making him weak and powerless in the dark.
The collector has the ability to lock anyone into his sketchbook as a drawing by simply touching it. The collector is actually Adrien’s father and Hawkmoth’s villain, who allows himself to be scolded to avoid suspicion.
His strength is driven by the loss of his miraculous book that Adrian stole. Once all the pages of his book are full, he can’t use his power, which allows him to get caught.
2 Lady Wifi
Before Marinette’s friend Alia learns her identity, she is agonized after being suspended from school after her mission to reveal Lady Bug’s identity goes too far.
Her powers include using mobile phones for instant navigation and controlling reality as if it were an app on her mobile phone, such as pausing and spying on people through the camera app and locking doors as easily as a phone screen. Unfortunately, its powers are useless without a good WiFi connection.
1 stormy weather
Marinette’s classmate Aurore has been reprimanded and turned into Stormy Weather after losing a contest to become a weather girl on the local children’s channel.
Her anger attracts the hawk moth to her, and after it harms her, she has the ability to control the weather. During her second appearance in the series, she became powerful enough to create a volcano and even managed to change the Earth’s orbit.
